It all began in Bordeaux, in the heart of the vines at Château Smith Haut Lafitte, the estate belonging to Mathilde’s parents. Caudalie is a unique story of love, nature, passion, chance encounters and a sense of adventure!

THE ENCOUNTER
We met professor Joseph Vercauteren, laboratory director of the Pharmacy University of Bordeaux, during the harvest at Château Smith Haut Lafitte. He told us that grape seeds contain the most powerful antioxidants in the world. We have been working with him ever since.
POLYPHENOLS
Two years after this encounter, we launched our first 3 products, containing grape seed polyphenols (which still exist today!). At just 23 years old, we packed our bags and set out to show pharmacists across France our creations. Impressed with the effectiveness of our products, we were given our first shot of success - And there, Caudalie truly began ...

Having travelled the world, talking to our customers, we dreamed of creating a hub to tell our story to women through a place that expressed our origins and where we could offer an urban twist to our Vinothérapie roots. We set up our 1st boutique spa in New York and now have over 50 boutiques worldwide.

We had the immense privilege of meeting Dr. David Sinclair in Boston. A true guru of longevity, he agreed to work alongside our team to patent a new molecule that tackles skin aging. This new Vinergy® patent can be found in our Premier Cru Serum.

Our new site is larger, more efficient and eco-designed to live up to our commitment to greener cosmetics at the forefront of Research and Innovation. It is home to both an ultra-modern logistics site resolutely turned towards the international market, but also our Research and Natural Formulation Laboratories, where more than 1000 ingredients and active ingredients from nature and the latest biotechnologies are listed.
CAUDALIE LAUNCHES ITS REVOLUTION
Caudalie has always been committed to creating effective, natural and clean products and being an environmentally-responsible brand. Since 2020, a little revolution has been taking place in our Natural Formulation laboratories. We are continuing our fight for more sustainable products and practices through our “cosm’ethics” charter and have removed 60 controversial substances from our formulas (including silicones and PEG). We also require our formulas to have a minimum of 95% natural origin ingredients (excluding Suncare products and Fresh Fragrances) and are working to ensure that all our packaging is designed to be recycled, recyclable or refillable by 2022.

DR. DAVID SINCLAIR CO-SIGNS A NEW PATENT
Since 2013, Caudalie has worked with Dr. David Sinclair in its continuous search for even more effective formulas. Together, we have filed a new generation patent combining Vine Resveratrol + Hyaluronic Acid + Vegan Collagen Alternative. This patented innovation is found in all of the products in the Resveratrol-Lift collection, resulting in visibly firmer, and younger-looking skin.

100% PLASTIC COLLECT LAUNCH
This new environmental project has been founded with Pur Project founder, Tristan Lecomte, and is based in Thailand. Its aim is to clean plastic waste from the oceans and transform it into resources. With the help of local recyclers, we collect from the ocean, rivers and beaches the equivalent of the amount of plastic we use each year. By giving new life to waste, we help the planet to breathe a little easier.
